Golf
There are several golf courses within an hour’s drive of Les Hirondelles.
Granville offers two links courses – the 9-hole course alongside the sea, and an 18-hole Championship course - www.golfdegranville.com
The recently redeveloped 18-hole course at Vire is challenging, not least because of its hilly location! It does however have beautiful views over the Lac du Dathy and surrounding countryside.
Third hole - Golf de Dathy 
Acclaimed by the press as one of the most beautiful natural golf courses in France, Golf de Clecy is situated 30km south of Caen. www.golf-de-clecy.com
Horse Riding
Riding is available at Brecey, just 5 minutes away, and also at St Jean le Thomas, where you can ride along the beach.

Fishing
Apart from the River See which runs just metres away from our property, and which has a reputation for good trout and salmon fishing, we now have access to a private lake for Carp fishing, which is just a 10 minute drive away. Please ask us for details.
Walking
The French love their 'Randonees' - a walking or cycling expedition. There are lots of marked walking trails in the area, taking you through beautiful woods and forests, and along river banks.
But you dont have to follow a trail of course - just taking a stroll from our Gites to the Church at Les Cresnays, along the tree-lined narrow road, is a very pleasant 15 minute walk.
There is also an attractive lake at Brecey which you can walk around and enjoy watching the fish jumping and maybe spot an otter in the water.
Cycling
Explore the beautiful Normandy bocage by country lanes and bicycle – much the best way to enjoy the countryside. www.brittanybordersbicycling.com
